What is the Standard of the SSC MTS Syllabus?

 The Staff Selection Commission will conduct the SSC MTS examination in April 2022. The SSC has released its official recruitment information for the year 2022. Candidates who wish to apply for the Multi-Tasking Staff examination can download the notification and submit their applications. They should start preparing immediately to improve their chances of cracking the examination. Candidates must be versed with the SSC MTS syllabus and examination pattern to achieve your goal.

The SSC MTS examination will be conducted in two sessions with two papers. Paper 1 will comprise objective-type questions, while Paper 2 will comprise descriptive-type questions. The complete syllabus and examination pattern for these two papers have been given here.

Syllabus for the SSC MTS Examination

In-depth knowledge of the SSC MTS syllabus is mandatory to crack the examination and strengthen your chance of clearing the exam. We have given the complete syllabus for both papers to aid your exam preparation. 

Paper 1: SSC MTS syllabus 

Paper 1 for the Multi-Tasking Staff exam for the year 2022 encompasses only objective-type questions. The exam will test candidates on the following subjects,

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude

You can refer to the study notes of these subjects at BYJU’S Exam Prep to pass the exam with high scores. The duration of the exam is 90 minutes. The Paper 1 question paper will have 100 questions, with each question carrying one mark. It is important to note that there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper 1 of the SSC MTS examination. If the candidate does not answer any of the questions, they will not be given any marks.

  • Reasoning syllabus: The reasoning subject carries 25 marks. The syllabus includes the following:

  • Visual memory and observation
  • Relationship concepts
  • Figure classification
  • Analytical functions
  • Syllabus for English Language testing: This session carries 25 marks and tests the English language proficiency of the candidate. It includes the following:

  • English writing ability
  • Syllabus for SSC MTS quantitative aptitude: This session also has 25 questions to test the aptitude of the candidates. The detailed syllabus has been presented:

  • Finance and economic news

Paper II: Descriptive type test

In Paper II, the candidate has to write an essay or a letter in English. They can also write them in any language from the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. For this session, the maximum marks are 50. The time provided for Paper II is 45 minutes. The objective of this examination is to test the elementary language skills of the candidate and check his fitness for Group-C job vacancies. 

SSC MTS Exam Preparation Tips

The candidate appearing for the SSC MTS examination should focus and prepare on every topic given in the syllabus. Candidates are welcome to download the exam preparation notes from BYJU’S Exam Prep guide. They are also advised to refer to the previous year’s question papers to prepare themselves for the exam adequately. They should study all sessions given in the SSC MTS Syllabus and do as many mock tests as possible to qualify for the examination.

SSC releases the syllabus for the SSC MTS exams. Paper I has four sessions with multiple-choice questions. Paper-II is a descriptive exam that tests the language proficiency of the candidate. Candidates should prepare for the exam in advance and focus on all syllabus sessions to clear the examination with good marks.
